Immortal Tragedy
"Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio; a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy; he hath borne me on his back a thousand times; and now, how abhorred in my imagination it is! My gorge rims at it. Here hung those lips that I have kissed I know not how oft. Where be your gibes now? Your gambols? Your songs? Your flashes of merriment, that were wont to set the table on a roar?"
William Shakespeare, "Hamlet"
Drew this a while ago and it was meant as something like a joke of role reversal, since in the original it's supposed to be prince Hamlet talking to a skull.
I thought why wouldn't guys have a theatre in the afterlife as well, so here are the actual actors that we see here:
"Hamlet" was once a boy called Nehemiah who got kidnapped by wandering gypsies who turned him into a freak that they displayed for money as he had a bracelet sealed on his waist forever, which remained always the same since while he was growing up. He was sometimes made to do private dancing for noble people and once during one of such events the mansion he visited was trapped in fire and everybody burned, including our hero. His skeleton has never been found but people tell of some strange skeleton with a bracelet around the waist who can be seen in the flames of burning houses.
"Yorick" was once a unlucky jester called Elijah who amused the king by sitting upon his own head but eventually the king couldn't stand his bad sense of humor and beheaded him. Since then the ghost boy haunted the king's castle and often appeared sitting on his own head, though it became a lot easier now that it's detached from the body.
