The characters of "骨干" in Chinese means the type of the key persons that effects great contribution in a company or organization(Like the key bones in the body). So it's not the proper meaning of 'backbone' here. Just replace it with "柔骨" which means the 'flexible bone' in Chinese.

Ah so it means the "backbone" as an important part of something, not necessarily the spinal column but more like a principal? Thank you for explaining, it's fixed now! 😊

In India they have a lot of yoga tournaments where all ages and genders are competing equally and basically it's all about demonstration of flexibility, except the poses aren't free-form but all have names and thus can be learned and repeated by others, even improved to create new poses. So at least in one country they have it and you can often find it on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook... Now all they need to do is touch the back of the head to the crotch and it's perfect :D

I've never seen the musculature of the underside of hyper-extended legs more beautifully defined.

Very glad you enjoyed it! Contortion makes me cry how beautiful it is and how much room there's for improvement. And even when you reached the top, starting from the bottom doesn't make it worse, it's like a video game you can restart over and over, only to find more in it! :D

Oh my god, that is absolutely amazing! When I saw this pic, it literally took my breath away. The twists you do are by far my absolute favorite. The closer the flexible boys (and girls) get to rubber the better! I would love to see how far one of these cuties could take extreme twisting some day. Full body twist maybe (although that might require some help). I adore these classroom settings too, I deeply wonder what "neocontortionism" is. Maybe something like...extreme new contortion methods using modern tech? Anyways, please keep up the amazing work~!

Yes, Neocontortionism and Postcontortionism, we definitely need some definitions XD But honestly contortion as a genre is so deep and wide that it could easily contain all kinds of different subgenres almost like music or painted art...

I agree maybe Neocontortionism is different from the classics as they use modern tech to squeeze the last bits of potential out of their already so rubbery bodies... And Postcontortionism takes it even further by putting them on Painproofen and literally turning the bendies into rubber/dough like substance XD So technically, Postcontortionism is not the classical Contortionism where everything is achieved through training, but it follows the same aesthetics while discovering new amazing forms :P
