Violet Lance

This is a gift for my good friend Agu-Fungus of his character Violet Lance from his drawing Gymnastics Violet. I really wanted to draw this character a lot so here she is, in her beautiful high cut leotard! ^.^

Speaking of leotards, if you're a fan of rhythmic gymnastics or at least watch it from time to time, you must have noticed how much the RG world changed after the Olympic games held in Sydney in 2000. Journalists called it an "upside down turn" because there was a fundamental change in Rhythmic Gymnastics Rules, enforcing a completely new dress code. The fans said goodbye to those embarassing leotards of the 90s and forgot it like a horrible nightmare! From now on, according to the new dress code rules gymnasts had to wear exclusively high cut leotards with fully revealed buttocks. Finally, our best dreams came true!

The costume innovations were liked by everybody and almost all the gymnasts wore new, more revealing leotards by the end of the season, at the World Championship in Madrid. During the Championship, however, gymnasts had to renew their leotards urgently as not all of them read the rules carefully enough, for example, semi-transparent models and leotards cut higher than the waistline weren't allowed. Later the gymnastics committee allowed both transparency and super high cut leotards, as they understood how much the variety of costumes attracts the audience.

So thank you, dear gymnastics committee for making the dreams of millions gymnastics fans come true! Even I wasn't much of a big RG fan before these innovations but the changes instantly made me fall in love with this beautiful sport and surely made it more artistic and I'd say even poetic... I've also heard rumors that they might allow rhythmic gymnasts to perform in bikini by 2020 and hopefully some full frontal nudity or at least topless performances will be eventually allowed by 2030! ^.^

Anyhow... it's always great when the world changes for the better and not the other way round! Imagine how awful the RG would be if instead of enforcing high cut leotards they'd force all the gymnasts to wear (god forbid) mini-skirts! Or something equally horrific. Sooo... phew! Glad that didn't happen! So we can enjoy beautiful Violet dancing her dance today the way it's always meant to be! <3
