Kenichi The History's Stretchiest Push-Ups
Master Akisame: I think it's time for Kenichi-kun to start some real technique training. What do you guys think?
Master Kensei Ma: I see. Although it may be tough for him... It's about time.
Master Sakaki: Hey hey, Kenichi isn't made of iron. He's only a small brat.
Akisame: Exactly. A true martial artist is quite the contrary of being made of iron.
Ma: Very true, very true. As Lao Zi once said: "The rigid and stiff will be broken. The soft and yielding will overcome."
Sakaki: Oh! So that's what you guys are talking about... Make him more flexible to make him a better fighter? Well, as his master and as the strong man that I am *cough*musclebulge*cough* I'm not sure I'm ready to approve the need for more flexibility. A real street brawler must be a big and strong man *muscleplaycough*.
Akisame (nods): He will be eventually. But it may take a few years for him to build the musculature. With Kenichi-kun's current complexion, he'd benefit a lot from getting more flexible first. But... It'll be really tough, intensive training. Will you accept it, Kenichi-kun?
Kenichi (stops his workout and turns to his masters): Really tough?
Akisame: Yes. Really tough.
Kenichi (sweatdrop): Can you wait a little longer?
Akisame (chuckles): How long is "a little?" Tomorrow?
Ma (to Sakaki's ear): Akisame really wants to start the training.
Sakaki (to Ma): He can barely contain himself.
Yup, so Kenichi Shirahama's master, Shio Sakaki, finally agreed with Akisame's arguments. After all, Akisame is a chiropractor and when it comes to limbering up the body he's the best expert. So as Kenichi's sensei, Sasaki had to take care of this training under Akisame's guidance. Together they came up with a pretty good exercise that stretches and strengthens a lot of muscles at the same time :3
Anyway, to those unfamiliar with this fandom it's from the anime/manga "The History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi".
Kenichi is one of the weakest people in his school, always getting bullied a lot. He is trying to study karate but is constantly bullied by other guys even in his karate club, who don't let him even start getting stronger in the first place. Eventually he pisses off one of the strong guys and is given a week to prepare himself for the final fight with that guy which is going to finally determine his position in the club. In practice, he's going to be kicked out of the club like a loser he is.
Suddenly he makes friends with a young martial artist girl Miu, the same age as him, and through her he discovers a certain dojo that he's never heard about before. In that dojo he meets several masters of martial arts who decide to prepare him for that fight. They promise to treat him nicely but in reality his training is as intense as in Jackie Chan's early films. But thanks to that he grows stronger and stronger on a daily basis.
So anyway, seeing how "nicely" his senseis treat him to prepare him for the fight, I got this idea in my mind that would probably help them a lot to make him even more "flexible but unbreakable" ^^
Basically, it's simple push-ups but the trainee additionally has to struggle against the assistant's legs pushing him down to stretch his back and legs all the same.
By the way, don't get the wrong idea, this picture ended up too realistic and dark but actually the anime itself is a bright and funny comedy ^^ (very very unlike this picture, haha)
Thanks again to RadicalEdward84 for suggesting to watch this anime, although he suggested a different character (Li Raichi) but I've only watched 15 episodes so far and haven't meet that character yet, so I decided to draw the main hero at this time ^^
