Yay! I'm so glad you could see into the very heart of this picture ^_^ Indeed, it's all about slowly exercising both the body and mind and keeping them both flexible at the same time. And what if not chess is best for this idea? And what if not contortion is able to compliment chess when we talk about a party that lasts for hours!

Of course it's fantasy contortion since no one will be able to stretch for so long, but those guys actually belong to the race of Oracles, who discovered that flexibility helps to get access to a certain mysterious knowlegde that opens to a person when their backbone is curved into a circle, and I don't know what that knowledge is exactly, but because of it people call them Oracles and they can see things that normal people can't. Though they have to get used to sitting like that since the early childhood, so that their spine would develop the right way, eventually they learn to sleep like that too, though of course their manner of walking is a lot different than normal people's ^_^; Sorry for so much details, but those guys are just like babies to me, I could go on for hours... <3

Oh ya, I've seen this kind of person when I lived elsewhere :D

Some football players could really show it off at the circus arena, and they actually do stretch a lot to prevent injuries, just forward, not backwards XD They're supposed to be able to touch their knees with their forehead and also do something close to the splits more or less good ~ or so I've heard :3

Ahehe, my oracles aren't contortionists, they're rather... uncontortionists :D because they're pretty much always "sitting" like that, only unfolding to go get something from the fridge or whichev *dance*

It's a tripple-fold, so just divide the body into three imaginary parts and draw them :D then blend together somehow... :3
But yeah, tripplefold is a sweet pose, specially when done by chubbier charas, it's just so compact and comfy if you don't consider the stupid backbone :D

Yea, I accidentally thought of this pose and how it would look specially good with a long hair, and also there's something specially hypnotizing about really advanced poses like this... I'm so glad to know it had the same effect on you, I actually drew this one about 3 years ago and so it's fun to view it occasionally and I'm always like hey wait, is he really doing that??

When you think of it, rationally, there's nothing special, just bending, but at the same time it's so much more but it's almost impossible to explain what exactly, but say, if there was a poll asking for the most beautiful thing the mankind has invented and there were, like, 10 answers, I'd instantly vote for contortion ^^

Yes indeed, minimal clothing for the win, and I personally don't really enjoy a backbend as much if I'm unable to see the actual play of skin and muscles, so bending while wearing loose clothes seems like a major waste of talent. I'm not the biggest fan of showing off the private bits, so I really do prefer either skin tight outfits or some sort of small panties (even on male subjects, I don't think they're girly since bodybuilders wear them and contortion is very similar to bodybuilding, since it's all about the body). As for this picture in particular, this is a race I made based on slugs and humans, but their reproductive organs are those of slugs, that said, they don't have any human genitals at all and instead they have a long luminous "tongue" that comes out of the hole in the belly button. They're also used to live in trees and have naturally flexible muscles and even bones...
